Our Club is embarking on a fundraising campaign to help with rising costs and to continue to offer scholarship support to families who would struggle financially to participate in the sport. Like most others these days, the Club finds itself facing higher costs in equipment, uniforms, and field rental. This additional funding also helps the Club keep its fees at reasonable levels and helps bring the sport to youth in the West Des Moines Community that otherwise would not be able to afford to play.
Your help is needed!
West Des Moines Lacrosse Club welcome and thanks Rock Valley PT for support high school teams on the sidesline with trainers during home games.

The high school girls team won the Midwest Girls Lacrosse League title on Saturday completing an undefeated season. The Tigers defeated Duchesne in the quarters, Papillion in the semis, and then beat the Lincoln Liberty 18-15 in the hard-fought finale. Congratulations players and coaches! What a season!
Several WDM Lax players were recognized for their play this past season. The Midwest Girls Lacrosse League announced their All Conference selections.
Making the First Team were Alyssa Bird, Emma Larson, and Jade Wilson. Selected to the Second Team were Ella Thompson and Alli Harty. Congratulations girls!
The club’s first Alumni Game was a big success! Current and past players squared off at Tiger Field for bragging rights, and the “young” guys prevailed in the waning seconds 10-9. With some well-placed timeouts, the “old” guys made a good showing with friendly banter going back and forth. Thanks to all that participated and that put on the event. The club hopes to hold the game annually so please spread the word so we can get more alumni involved.
Coaches and players from our club helped run a multi-night camp put on by the CanPlay organization which provides no-cost athletic and youth development opportunities for kids. The camp was held June 13-16 at Linnan Park in Grimes, and was the first of its kind. WDM Lax staff and players worked with 25 boys and girls from the metro on the basic skills of lacrosse. USA Lacrosse also supported the event with an equipment grant given to CanPlay. Thank you to all that participated and supported the worthy event.
The West Des Moines Lacrosse Club (WDMLAX) fields boys and girls teams for players in grades 3-12. We offer programs for youth, middle school and high school. The club is an all-volunteer, non-profit 501c3 organization, and strives to provide players with the best coaching, facilities, and competition available. WDMLAX is a member of several leagues based on gender and age of the players. We welcome players from various communities and schools in central Iowa. Regardless of whether you've played the game before, you are welcome to join our club or join us for a practice to see if you like the sport. We are not affliated nor sponsored by a school district, however, we utlize West Des Moines School District facilities and thank them for their support to grow the sport of lacrosse in Iowa.
